1. Services
Coastal Tax Specialist provides remote tax preparation, consultation, and e-filing services for individuals, expatriates, and small businesses. Our services include the preparation and electronic filing of federal and state tax returns as outlined in your selected service tier. Services do not include legal representation, audit defense, or financial planning unless explicitly agreed upon in writing prior to engagement.
2. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely information and documentation necessary for the preparation of their tax return. Coastal Tax Specialist will rely on the information provided by the client and will not independently verify its accuracy. We are not liable for errors, omissions, penalties, or interest resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or untimely information supplied by the client. It is the client's responsibility to review their completed return thoroughly before authorizing filing.
3. Fees & Payment Terms
Service fees are outlined on our Pricing page at www.coastaltaxspecialist.com/pricing. Upon completion of your tax return, clients will receive a secure invoice via PayPal. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice and prior to the release of any completed tax documents. Coastal Tax Specialist reserves the right to withhold filing until payment has been received in full. Accepted payment methods include all major credit and debit cards processed securely through PayPal.
4. Refund Policy
Due to the nature of professional tax preparation services, all fees are non-refundable once work has commenced on your return. If you are unsatisfied with our services prior to the preparation of your return, please contact us within 48 hours of your intake form submission to discuss your concerns. No refunds will be issued after a return has been submitted to the IRS or relevant tax authority.
5. Confidentiality & Data Protection
Coastal Tax Specialist is committed to protecting your personal and financial information. All client data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at www.coastaltaxspecialist.com/privacy-policy. We utilize industry-leading, GDPR-compliant platforms, including CCH Axcess Tax Software and Encyro, to ensure your information is encrypted, secure, and accessible only to authorized personnel. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law or as necessary to complete your tax filing.
6. E-File Authorization
By approving your completed tax return, you authorize Coastal Tax Specialist to electronically file your return with the Internal Revenue Service and any applicable state tax authorities on your behalf. You confirm that all information contained in the return is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. This authorization is valid for the current tax year only and must be renewed for each subsequent filing.
7. Accuracy Disclaimer
Coastal Tax Specialist exercises professional care and diligence in the preparation of all tax returns. However, the accuracy of your return is dependent upon the completeness and accuracy of the information and documentation you provide. We are not responsible for any penalties, interest, or additional taxes assessed by the IRS or state tax authorities as a result of incomplete or inaccurate information supplied by the client.
8. IRS Audit Assistance
Basic assistance with IRS correspondence directly related to a return prepared by Coastal Tax Specialist is included within 90 days of filing at no additional charge. Full audit representation, appeals, or extended IRS correspondence beyond this scope are not included in standard service fees and may be arranged separately upon request. Pricing for audit representation will be discussed and agreed upon in writing prior to engagement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Coastal Tax Specialist's total liability to any client for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the specific service in question. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services.
